Inventory Product Feed
Inventory Product Feed
Summary
The Inventory Product Feed is a unique URL provided for each store in The Shed App. It returns a tab-separated values file, commonly called a TSV file, containing product data for each in-stock inventory building located at that specific store.
This feed can be used by third-party systems to display, advertise, or process your available inventory. Common uses include custom storefronts, Google Merchant Center, e-commerce integrations, and internal reporting tools.
Each store has its own unique Inventory Product Feed URL. The feed only includes in-stock inventory buildings assigned to that specific store.
How Does It Work?
Third-party services can be configured to request the Inventory Product Feed URL on a scheduled basis. Once the data is fetched, it can be used to populate a custom storefront, update an e-commerce platform, or send inventory data to another system.
Because the feed is generated from your inventory data in The Shed App, it allows connected systems to stay up to date as inventory buildings are added, updated, sold, or removed.
Attempting to open the feed URL directly in a browser may download the TSV file. Some browsers or devices may block the download depending on security settings.
Potential Use Cases
Feed Inventory Data to Google Merchant Center
The Inventory Product Feed can be used to send building data to Google Merchant Center, helping make your in-stock inventory available for Google Shopping and related product listings.
The feed includes product information such as building details, images, dimensions, and additional product attributes that can help Google better understand each inventory building.
Integration with Zapier or Other Automation Tools
Automation tools such as Zapier can request the feed, parse the TSV data, and send the information to other connected applications or custom systems.
This can be useful for syncing inventory data into CRMs, spreadsheets, marketing tools, reporting systems, or custom workflows.
Custom Web Page or Storefront Display
The Inventory Product Feed can be used to power a custom web page or storefront that displays your in-stock buildings.
By pulling data directly from the feed, your website can show current inventory information without requiring duplicate manual entry. This can help customers browse available buildings and view relevant product details, images, and descriptions.
The product descriptions included in the feed may also provide SEO value when used on public-facing inventory pages.

What Is Included in the Feed?
The Inventory Product Feed returns a TSV file that can be opened or previewed in Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or another spreadsheet program.
The feed includes standard product information for inventory buildings, along with additional product attributes used by third-party systems such as Google Merchant Center.
Product Details
The feed now includes additional product detail data when available.
Product detail information may include:
Section | Attribute Name | Attribute Value |
|---|---|---|
Meta Data | Transitional Serial Number | Building custom serial number |
Meta Data | Building Design Category | Building design category name |
Meta Data | Building Model Category | Building style name |
Option Details | Option name | Option color |
For option details, each option with a color may be included as a product detail value. For example, if a building has a roof color, siding color, trim color, or similar option color, that option may be included in the feed.
Product detail sections and attributes are only included when the related data exists for the building.
Additional Images
The feed now includes additional image links when marketing images are available.
The Additional Image Link field can include up to 10 total image links. Only images tagged as marketing are included.
These additional images can help third-party storefronts and Google Merchant Center display more complete product listings for each building.
Product Dimensions
The feed now includes product dimensions when available:
Field | Description |
|---|---|
Product Length | Building length |
Product Width | Building width |
Product Height | Building wall height |
For US-based accounts, dimensions are provided in inches.
Building model dimensions are converted from feet to inches. For example, a 10-foot width would be represented as 120 inches.
For height, the feed uses the building’s wall height.
Example of What You’ll Get in the File
The Inventory Product Feed returns a tab-separated file with one row per in-stock inventory building.

Each row contains product data for that building, including available product details, image links, and dimensions. This file can be previewed with Excel, Numbers, Google Sheets, or any other spreadsheet program.
Because each store has a unique Inventory Product Feed URL, the file will only include in-stock buildings located at that specific store.
