How to Add The Shed App to Your Domain
How to Add a CNAME Record to Your DNS Settings
Adding a CNAME record to your DNS settings is a simple process that helps configure your domain to work with The Shed App. Follow the steps below to complete the setup.
Step 1: Locate Your DNS Settings
Log in to your domain provider’s admin panel (e.g., GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains).
Navigate to the DNS Settings or DNS Management section.
Step 2: Add a New CNAME Record
Click the option to Add a Record or Create New Record.
Enter the following details:
Record Type: CNAME
Host/Name: app
Points to/Value: app.theshedapp.com
TTL: Leave as default (typically 3600 seconds or automatic).
Save the record once you've entered the details.
Step 3: Verify Changes
Use a DNS propagation checker tool, such as What's My DNS, to confirm the changes have propagated.
Enter your domain (e.g.,
app.yourdomain.com
) and check the CNAME record.Look for the result to point to
app.theshedapp.com
.
Keep in mind that DNS changes can take a few hours to fully propagate across the internet. If you don’t see the changes immediately, check again later.
Step 4: Notify The Shed App Support Team
After the DNS changes have propagated successfully:
Send an email to support@theshedapp.com.
Include your domain name and request a domain update for your account.
The support team will confirm the changes and finalize the setup.
