The Inventory Product Feed is a unique URL provided for each store on The Shed App. It returns a tab-separated values (TSV) file. This file contains data for each of your in-stock inventory buildings located at a specific store that can be used by 3rd parties. This enables the creation of custom storefronts that showcase your inventory buildings.
Third-party services can be set up to request the product feed URL on a scheduled basis. Once the data is fetched, it can be used to populate a custom storefront, or fed into an existing 3rd party storefront/e-commerce application. This allows your customers to browse and select building designs as per their preferences.
Feed Product Data to Google Merchant Center: Enhance your visibility on Google Shopping by directly feeding your inventory building data to Google Merchant Center.
Integration with Zapier: Leverage Zapier to automate the fetching of your product feed. Zapier can request the feed, parse it, and then send the data to any connected application or custom system you use. This opens up endless possibilities for integration.
Custom Web Page Display: Utilize the product feed to create a custom web page that showcases your in-stock buildings. By pulling data directly from the feed, you can ensure that your website always displays the most up-to-date information on your products. This method offers a tailored shopping experience to your customers, allowing them to explore your offerings through a specialized interface designed to highlight the features and benefits of your building designs. The description that is provided in the feed has the potential to provide SEO value as well.

We've provided a simple example to illustrate what the Build to Order Product Feed will return. This example demonstrates how the data is structured and how it can be utilized to enhance your online store's product offerings. Each store has a unique Inventory Product Feed URL that will only return in-stock buildings that are located at that specific store.
Note: this feature is currently in Beta testing and the data structure may change in the future as improvements are implemented. We will do our best to inform you everytime this happens so that your implementation does not break unexpectedly. |
